ELB PLASTERING

Skimming & Wall Finishing

Skimming and wall finishing are essential steps in creating smooth, flawless walls and ceilings. Skimming involves applying a thin layer of finishing plaster over surfaces to correct imperfections, making them perfectly flat and ready for painting or wallpapering.

Plaster Repairs & Re-skimming

To restore or improve damaged or aging walls and ceilings; fixing cracks, holes, and other surface imperfections to bring the wall back to a sound, stable condition, re-skimming applies a fresh, thin coat of plaster over the entire surface.

Artex Removal

Artex ceilings were once a popular choice, but many homeowners now prefer a smooth, modern finish. We specialise in covering all types of Artex, whether it’s swirled, stippled, or patterned. Using high-quality materials and proven techniques, we create a clean, flat surface ready for painting or decorating. Whether it’s one room or a whole house, we’ll leave you with a flawless finish and minimal disruption.

Dry Lining & Dot and Dab

Dry lining and dot and dab are modern techniques for quickly creating smooth wall surfaces without traditional wet plastering. Dry lining involves fixing plasterboard sheets directly to walls or frames, speeding up the finishing process. The dot and dab method specifically uses adhesive “dabs” to bond the plasterboard to masonry walls, allowing for quick installation and minimal drying time. Both methods provide a clean, professional base ready for painting or decorating.

Internal & External Rendering

Internal and external rendering involves applying a coat of plaster or cement-based material to walls to create a smooth or textured finish. Internal rendering is used inside buildings to prepare walls for final decoration, while external rendering protects outside walls from weather damage and improves their appearance. Both types of rendering enhance the strength, insulation, and overall look of a building, providing a durable and attractive finish.

Why we're called

ELB Plastering

ELB Plastering isn’t just a name — it stands for Esmae, Lucah, and Blake, the names of my three children. This business was built with them in mind, as a daily reminder of why we work so hard and what we’re building for the future.

Every wall we skim and every ceiling we smooth out is done with pride, not just as tradespeople — but as a family. One day, we hope ELB will be more than just a name; we hope it becomes something our children can be proud to be part of.

A note from the owner

“I’ve always believed that when you put pride into your work, it shows — not just in the finish, but in how you treat people along the way. ELB Plastering is more than just a job for me — it’s something I hope to pass on to my kids one day. Until then, I’ll keep doing what I love: leaving walls smooth, customers happy, and making Falkirk homes look their best.”
