What we do
Walls, ceilings and outside walls
Inside and out, on domestic and trade jobs across Central Scotland. If you are not sure which one your job is, describe it and we will tell you.

Plastering & Skimming
Skimming over existing walls, fresh plaster onto new board, and re-skimming tired surfaces to leave a flat finish ready for paint.
Plastering & Skimming -
Plaster Repairs
Cracks, holes, blown and hollow plaster and damp-damaged sections patched and made invisible. No job too small.
Plaster Repairs -
Plasterboarding & Dry Lining
Dot and dab, stud partitions, boarding out and insulated board, taped and jointed or boarded then skimmed as one job.
Plasterboarding & Dry Lining -
Rendering & Harling
External render, harling and roughcasting, wet dash, and repairs to failed or cracked sections on older Scottish properties.
Rendering & Harling -
Ceiling Plastering & Repairs
Re-skimming ceilings, repairing lath and plaster, overboarding, and putting right cracked or sagging ceilings in older homes.
Ceiling Plastering & Repairs -
Artex Ceilings
Dated textured ceilings covered over and finished smooth, either overboarded or skimmed, ready for decorating.
Artex Ceilings
Commercial Plastering & Trade Partnerships
Contract plastering for builders, developers and letting agents. New build, refurbishment, void turnarounds and boarding packages.
Our work
Recent work
Real jobs in real houses across the area. Fresh plaster looks pink or brown until it dries out, which is why so much of this is that colour.
Before After Before After Before After Before After Before After
Why ELB
The bits people actually complain about
Most bad experiences with a tradesman are not about the finish. They are about not turning up, mess, and a price that moves. So those are the things worth committing to.
-
We turn up when we say
You get a day and we work to it. If something genuinely moves, you hear it from us first rather than finding out by waiting in.
-
No job too small
A single cracked wall, one ceiling, a patch after a leak. Small jobs get the same quote and the same finish as full houses.
-
Clean and tidy
Everything sheeted before we start and cleared properly at the end. Plastering is dusty work, so containing it is part of the job, not a favour.
-
A price that holds
You get the figure in writing before we start. If opening a wall up changes what it needs, we tell you and agree it before we carry on.
Who turns up
You will be dealing with Dean
ELB Plastering is Dean. He prices the job, he turns up, and he does the work, so there is nobody in between you and whoever is holding the trowel. On bigger jobs he works alongside people he has worked with before.
Customers keep saying the same three things in their reviews, so those are the ones worth committing to: he arrives when he says he will, he leaves it clean, and the price he quotes is the price you pay.
More about ELB PlasteringOur process
How the job actually runs
Most people have never hired a plasterer and do not know what they are agreeing to. Here is the whole thing, start to finish.
No competitor publishes this, which tells you how often people are left guessing.
-
Survey
We come out and look at the job properly. Measuring up, checking what is behind the existing surface, and asking what you want the finished room to do.
-
Written quote
You get the price in writing with the work set out line by line. If anything could change it once we open the surface up, you hear about it before we start rather than after.
-
Prep and protection
Floors covered, furniture sheeted or moved out, doorways sealed. Plastering makes dust, and the difference between a tidy job and a mess is decided before any material is mixed.
-
The work
Boarding, bonding and finish coats worked in order, each one given the time it needs. You will know which rooms are in use and which are not on any given day.
-
Drying time
Fresh plaster has to dry before it can be painted. We tell you roughly how long to leave it, what it should look like as it goes off, and what to do if it dries patchy.
-
Clean up
Waste taken away, floors vacuumed, everything put back. The job is not finished when the plastering stops, it is finished when you have got your room back.

Rated 5 out of 5
Dean did a fantastic job. Came on time each day, did all the prep work and cleaned up afterwards too. Would highly recommend and will book dean again when we have our next room done.

Deserves nothing less than 5 star. Great plasterer to have on site. He arrived when he said he would, great communication and left a perfect finish. He also left the hall cleaner than he found it. Top lad. Couldn’t recommend enough. Thanks Dean.
